The University of Cape Town Libraries is pleased to invite you to

the official launch of the new UCT Data Repository,

powered by Figshare for Institutions

This new service is an online repository, providing access to the supplementary research data that inform scholarly outputs hosted on other platforms, such as OpenUCT.

The launch event includes a live demonstration of the repository platform and the announcement of the winner of the repository naming competition.

​PROGRAMME:

15:00 for 15:30 Light refreshments will be served

15:30 to 15:40 Opening & welcome by Gwenda Thomas, Executive Director of UCT Libraries

15:40 to 16:00 Launch presentation by DVC, Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, and​ announcement of the repository name

16:00 to 16:20 Live demonstration of the repository

16:20 to 16:30 Closing

Directions to the venue:

• Enter the Chancellor Oppenheimer Library at the Main entrance next to Jameson Hall (to the right of Jammie Hall if you are facing it)
• Go through the turnstiles and up the first flight of stairs on your left
• Keep going up the stairs to your left until you reach the 4th flight with a big purple sign overhead that indicates "Hlanganani Junction" to your right as you reach level 6
