About the Session

Everything on how to think about your research data ahead of time, including filling out a Data Management Plan, how to use UCTDMP, and questions to consider when planning the journey of your data through your research project.
Data, data, everywhere. Knowing where and how to save your data can make a huge difference to your research project. We introduce you to the various storage options available at UCT, from the local network drive, Google Drive, One Drive, but we also touch on how to pick the best folder structure to keep your files organized.
There are lots of ways to collect data, and the way in which you collect them can make your work easier. This sessions looks at file naming, file formats, tools for collection as well as the best way to get comfortable with spreadsheets.
